Contact Nelson SPCA and fill out Foster/Adoption Rules Form and Dog Application. These are sent to the SPCA Manager for approval.
If your application is approved, you are then able to foster a dog for a few days. You can view the available dogs during opening hours Monday to Friday.
Pay the adoption fee and register the dog at Nelson SPCA. The adoption fee covers the cost of de-sexing, first vaccinations plus up-to-date worm and flea treatments. You can also pay an additional fee to have your dog microchipped.
Return the dog to Nelson SPCA and talk to staff about the kind of pet you're looking for.
